Harlem Grown
Needing a new place to volunteer? Check out Harlem Grown! It is an outdoor urban farm located in Harlem with organic produces, herbs, and a chickens that produce eggs every week! The organization's mission is to inspire youth to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.
A group of us had the pleasure of participating in Citi's Global Community Day by doing some gardening and composting at this beautiful farm. I even got to lay down new pebble grounds for the chickens (don't ask me what my shoes smelled like afterwards)!

They even have a green house next door for growing hydroponic produces.
If you are hungry after volunteering, stop by Renaissance Harlem 2 blocks away. The steak sandwich and the salmon quinoa dishes were delicious!
