Sunday Funday
Need some new dating spots?? Follow me around town to create your own Sunday Funday!!
Brunch | Win Son | Williamsburg
I am a sucker for Taiwanese food!! While Win Son is not a super authentic Taiwanese restaurant, it does take some of my beloved steeet food/snack and turned them into beautifully presented dishes. Wait time at 12pm for 2 was 15 mins. 2 things to note - 1) dishes were heavy on the seasoning and saucy end, and 2) portions were huge, not the standard snack size you are used to in Taiwan.
- Breakfast for Champions (rum and homemade peanut milk, yummy!)
- Hualien Egg Bomb (there is this food truck in Hualien city that serves fried egg wrapped in scallion pancake, Win Son tripled the size and made it more fancy)
- O-A Jian (oyster pancake): a traditional Taiwanese dish. The version here is less gluey with more herbs, very tasty!
- Lu rou fan (mined pork over rice): another staple that you find at every street corner in Taiwan. You don’t usually see fried eggs in there, but it was a nice touch.
- Hash brown: Yelpers raved about this dish but there is nothing special except it was a well made hash brown. But I still prefer the one at McDonald.
Coffee | Round K | LES
A very cute coffee shop with seatings in the back of the store (don’t be fooled by just the few bar stools when you first walk in). Bathroom was so pretty and well decorated that I had to take some pictures.
- Matte Black latte: delicious and instagram ready! But it is on the sweeter end so make sure you get some complimentary water to go along.
- Egg cappuccino: Tastes like an egg custard!
Happy Hour | The Flower Shop | LES
$5 wine and dollar oyster is the best way to celebrate Sunday Funday!
We sat by the bar and enjoyed the chill vibe on a Sunday afternoon.
They also have another bar downstairs, with a pool table and large enough to house a big party!
Nightcap | The Williamsburg Hotel | Williamsburg
We actually came here on a Saturday night, but who says the fun has to start on Sunday?
We opted for seating inside (they do have an outdoor patio but beware of smokers) where we could have an intimate conversation.
You might be wondering, what happened to dinner?? Well, we were so full from our brunch at Win Son that we didn’t need dinner.
What is your ideal Sunday Funday?
