Oct. 2012 & Sept. 2016 (4D3N):  For the ease of planning, I have combined the highlights from my 2012 and 2016 Athens visits into one.  We opted to spending time in Athens after visiting all the Greek islands.  In 2012, we went to Santorini, Paros and Mykonos before flying home from Athens.  In 2016, we choose Greece as our honeymoon destination where we visited Milos, Folegandros, Santorini and stayed at a friend's apartment in Athens.  Athens is your typical city, congested and crowded, unlike the islands.  You can limit your stay to just 1 night if you are able to time it and give yourself enough time to visit the Acropolis.

Day 1

• Afternoon fight arrival in Athens
• Take metro to hotel
• Dinner @ Zampano*
• Walk around Monastiraki & Plaka 

Day 2

• Metro to The Parthenon/Acropolis Site
  • Odeon of Herodes Atticus (an amphitheater)
  • The Parthenon
• Flea markets in Monastiraki
• Lunch @ Smile Cafe Restaurant*
• Acropolis museum
• Dinner @ Arcadia*
• Bars in Gazi

Day 3

• 12:40pm bus to Cape Sounion (1.5 hr ride) to see the Temple of Poseidon
• Take return bus and get off around Faliro Marina
• Walk around the marina
• Dinner @ Makriyianni 3

Day 4

• Metro to the airport (need to buy airport specific ticket)
• Flight to JFK
