Yilan (Eastern Taiwan)
March 29 - 31, 2018 (3D2N): Visiting Yilan has been on my mind for quite some time, mainly because we wanted to tour the Kavalan Distillery. Little did we know, Yilan offers more than just Kavalan, it is full of fun activities for adults and kids! Yilan is broken up into 3 parts: 1) Jiaoxi, known for its hot spring, cherry valley roasted duck and roasted chicken. 2) Yilan City, the capital city of Yilan county; known for Jimmy’s art work around town and Kavalan. 3) Luodong, where we stayed at. Known for its night market, Scallion farm in Sunshin, and fishing ports in Nan Fan Ao.

Tips:
I suggest renting a car to explore this part of town. Shop around and compare prices against Easy Rent website.
If you opt for public transportation, there are direct coach bus from Taipei that will get you to Yilan in around 1 hour. You can then rent a scooter around town!
