Studio @ Freehand New York
Here is a place where it is acceptable to bring your date to a dark and unmarked hotel on a first date!
Freehand New York is housed in the former George Washington Hotel—once home to many storied writers, musicians, and creatives.
Upon walking into the lobby, you are surrounded by beautiful artworks and a large wooden panel showcasing the elevators.
Take the stairs to your left and you will arrive at the lovely lounge area. To the right of the lounge is the George Washington Bar, the Game Room, and the restroom.
We went left and ended up at this spacious dining space - Studio. I looked at my friend and asked “Are we in Brooklyn??”
The Cafe serves dishes with flavors of North Africa and the Near East. My favorite picks were the chicken cigars, burger, and smoky eggplant flatbread.
After our meal, we went to the Game Room and played few rounds of shuffle board and pac-man.
When was the last time you get to have this much fun at a hotel?
