San Miguel de Allende (Mexico)
Nov. 1-5, 2017 (5D4N): A cute colonial town 3 hours north of Mexico City. Visited during Day of the Dead (dias de los muertos). Make sure you sample few cocktails made from mezcal tequila as well as Casa Dragones!

Day 1
- Arrives in Mexico City from NYC
- Pick up rental car from Enterprise/National or take shuttle bus
- Drive to San Miguel de Allende (SMDA) - 3 hrs 20 mins
- Check-in @ Airbnb (Residential El Encanto)
- Day of the Dead make-up from Ixchel Garcia Juarez (chel Gj via FB) @ Expo (300 pesos)
- Walk around SMDA in our make-up:

- Walk around Jardin Allende/church/watch people dressed up for the Catrina parade
- Dinner @ El Tupinamba
Day 2

- Walk around historical town:

- Drive to Chapel of Jimmy Ray (did not go in as reservation is needed to get in)
- Visit cemetery (Panteon de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe)
- Dinner @ Hecho de Mexico*
- San Augustin Chocolates & Churros
Day 4
- La Gruta Spa*(150 pesos)
- Santuario de Atotonilco (15 pesos for the small room; free for the main one, opens at 1:30pm)
- Shop around Jardin Allende
- Drinks @ Zumo*
- Dinner @ La Mezcaleria*
Day 5
- Drive to Mexico City/ Return rental car
- Hang out at the airport lounge
- 6pm-midnight: Flight to JFK

Tips

- Shop at La Comer (super market) for water and fruit
- Parking is difficult in SMDA, take Uber/taxi instead
- Weather is hot during the day but cool at night
- Spanish is not required but it is certainly easier
