El Salvador
Dec. 24 - 30, 2016 (7D7N): Visitors would be surprised to find that there are a lot of beautiful spots in El Salvador - a lesser known tourist destination in Central America. I was there to visit families but the guide below provides a good overview for a first-time visitor! It is also possible to combine this visit with Guatemala.

Parque Nacional Cerro Verde (join a guided hike)
Lunch @ La Pampa*
Boat ride by Lago de Coatepeque (negotiate the rate first)
Dinner @ Bocadillos Taiwaneses
Day 4
Coffee @ La Brumas* (sip coffee and enjoy the view)
Lunch @ Caliche’s* (located in Bulevar Santa Elena, El Salvador)
Puerta del Diablo (climb to the top to get an amazing view)
Try the food stands after the climb
Day 5
Termales de Santa Teresa (hot springs; $10)
Drive along Ruta de las Flores
Juayua – walk around, church with black Christ statue, market, lunch
Chorros de los Calera (7 waterfalls)
Ice cream @ San Julian
