Mykonos
Oct. 17 - 18, 2012 (2D1N): My friend and I took advantage of the low prices in Greece and spent 10 days in Greece where we also experienced the 24 hr strike first hand! During this trip, we traveled to Santorini - Paros - Mykonos - Athens. Give we went during the off-peak season, we did not encounter the crazy party scenes in Mykonos (especially at Paradise beach)..but at the same time, a lot of bars/restaurants were closed for the season.
Day 1
- Arrive at Mykonos via ferry from Paros
- Hotel transfer to Alkyon Hotel
- Walk around Mykonos town
- Plage Ag Anna (small beach next to Old Port to watch sunset)
- Dinner @ Avra
- Bar Del Mar (little Venice)
Day 2
- Hang out by the pool
- Walk around Mykonos town
- Paradise Beach (the beach was rather peaceful in October. We met whole bunch of Americans trying to figure out how to get back to Athens given the strike)
- Evening flight to Athens (~30mins; we got lucky that our flight did not get cancelled)
Tips
- Grab Gyros from the street stand as you wonder through the streets of Mykonos town
- Mykonos is known for its beautiful beaches, while I did not get to visit them all, I have few good friends from Greece that can definitely recommend some. Please get in touch with me!
