A weekend away in Garrison/Cold Spring
The only thing I know about Garrison other than it being the place where my aunt & uncle choose to spend their weekends is that Gov Pataki lives there. While it does not have a real downtown, it is home to many culture and nature hikes. It is also an easy Metro North ride from Grand Central (~1 hr) and close to its charming neighboring town - Cold Spring. If you have more time, you can visit Hyde Park while you are there.
