May 23 - 25, 2015 (3D2N): Perfect idea for a long weekend getaway from NYC! We started by visiting our friends in Boston. The itinerary below focuses on the best cities in Cape Cod to visit per my research.

Depart for Boston (4 hr drive)
Lunch with friends @ Alive & Kicking Lobsters*
Tour around MIT (the Dome) & Harvard (Widener library)
Drive to Sandwich (1:30 hr drive):

Town's artesian well (adjacent to the mill)
Sandwich Boardwalk* (Boardwalk Road off Jarves Street)

Cape Cod Lavender Farm @ Harwich
Visit Chatham:

Drive to Eastham:

National Seashore – Salt Pond Visitor Center @ Eastham
Nauset Lighthouse (lighthouse featured on Cap Cod chips)

Day 3
Provincetown (30mins drive; parking @ Conwell & Bradford $8/day)
Dolphin Fleet whale watch* (3hr duration; ~$44) @ MacMillan Wharf
Pilgrim Monument & museum (9am-7pm; $12)
Walk around Commercial Street
Lunch @ The Canteen
Portuguese Bakery @ 299 Commercial St. (get malasadas)
Province Lands Visitor Center* for sand dune & last spot on the National Seashore
Tips
While Route 6 is the fast highway, Route 6A to the north of that is extremely pretty and passes through lovely villages and near beaches and coves and wetlands. It is called the Old King's Highway.
There are some seafood shacks along the route going up to Provincetown.
